The project "SECOND LIFE: Seafarers work and live better having alternatives of a future job ashore "aims to identify new "on the ground" job opportunities for seafarers in order to improve their life expectancy after a career start "in sea". The CIELI working group has thus created an innovative one software capable of matching the "hard" and "soft" skills of seafarers (previously identified on the basis of 116 professional figures onboard) and those required to cover one of the 96 ashore positions relating to the maritime-industrial cluster.
Created by CIELI (Scientific Responsible: Dott. Giovanni Satta e Prof. Francesco Parola) in collaboration with ESA Group, financed a front of competitive tender by The ITF Seafarers' Trust London (UK) for a total amount of € 46,300 and a duration of 14 months.
